A 34-year-old man appeared in Tamworth Local Court on Saturday after being arrested for drug and firearm offences at an Edgeroi property.

Officers from Oxley Police District attended an Edgeroi home at 10am on Friday, August 13 and executed a search warrant.

During the search, officers seized a number of items including a Colt 9MM Luger pistol, ammunition, cannabis, methamphetamine and more than $15,000 in cash.

The man was arrested at the home and taken to Narrabri Police Station where he was charged with three counts possess prohibited drug, two counts possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm – pistol, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, deal with proceeds of crime less than $100,000, supply prohibited drug – indictable and commercial quantity, supply cannabis – indictable and commercial quantity, cultivate prohibited plant – small quantity, possess unregistered firearm – not pistol/prohibited firearm, give firearm to person not authorised by licence/permit, supply/give ammunition to person not authorised, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.

He was refused bail to appear in court last Saturday.
