The NSW Police helicopter was deployed to Narrabri to assist on-the-ground officers in an attempt to locate a missing Narrabri man.

Local officers, other emergency services as well as a police rescue unit set up a base site near the Namoi River this week as the investigation into the disappearance of Glenn Warren continues.

Mr Warren, aged 51, was last seen leaving a tourist village on Cooma Road about 6.30pm on Friday, August 13.

Officers from Narrabri Police Station were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

In addition to the police air unit, divers and the dog division joined what local Inspector Robert Dunn described as a monumental effort by the other local emergency services.

Police were joined by these services, including the VRA, SES and fire service volunteers, at a site based near Bridge Street.

The river search was expected to be called off from yesterday, however, specialists will come to Narrabri to continue investigations into the circumstances of Mr Warren’s disappearance.

Police and family hold serious concerns for Glenn’s welfare as he has a medical condition and a renewed appeal for public assistance was issued last night by NSW Police.

Glenn is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall and of a medium build, and has short dark hair and brown coloured eyes.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt with a red stripe and blue track pants.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Narrabri Police Station on 02 6792 7199.
