As recently noted in Topical, Scamwatch is warning people to be on the lookout for “Flubot” text messages. A reader has advised Topical that she received one. The scam involves a link sent as a phone text message. If you click on the link, it will install malware. Recipients are enticed to click on the link by promises of hearing a missed voicemail. These messages are misspelt indicating that it isn’t legitimate. Once the malware is installed, it can then go to steal your data.
