Rambo the fox is proving hard to catch in the Australian Wildlife Conservancy sancturary in Pilliga. Rambo has been identified on camera, sporting some tattered ears which are probably the result of an encounter with a feral cat at some stage. But Rambo has so far defied traps, 1080, drone surveillance, shoot nights and sniffer dogs. The removal of the last of the feral predators, i.e. Rambo, from the fenced area will mean re-introduction of native species can proceed with confidence.
