The former Faulkner’s Cordial Factory and Ice Works, on Maitand Street, will be transformed into a business hub following the site’s successful sale.
Last week, The Exchange Group, which operates a successful centre in Dubbo, announced its expansion to a second location in NSW.
It anticipates the site, to be called The Exchange Narrabri, will open early in 2022.
The purchase of the precinct includes two 106-year-old buildings.
The Exchange Group’s chief executive officer, Jillian Kilby said the significant renovation had started using local trades which will restore one of the empty heritage buildings.
“It will be incredible to see this disused red brick icon brought back to life,” she said.
“The second site will become our north west hub for business owners to work and gather, fostering regional innovation and community, bringing together a diverse network of people who will have the space to connect, the room to grow, the opportunity to learn, and the support they need to succeed.”
The development of a Narrabri centre follows on from the success of The Exchange in Dubbo.
Hundreds of businesses use the co-working space and available resources at The Exchange in Dubbo each year.
