The local Paradise Fresh has been open in Narrabri for over a decade, offering both walk-in sales and home deliveries.

But fresh fruit and vegetables aren’t the only reason customers are flocking to the business.

Like many small businesses in the district, customer service is the number one priority at Paradise Fresh.

Proprietor Sarah Bennett says she and the team travel far and wide to deliver fresh produce to local people and businesses.

“Our delivery area covers Narrabri, Moree, Wee Waa, Boggabri and everywhere in between,” she said.

“And we cater to both retail customers who make purchases for their personal use, as well as wholesale clients that are buying for their business.

“Some of our customers might not feel comfortable going into the supermarket given how many other shoppers are there, others suffer from mobility problems, and many are simply too far out of town to make regular trips to the store.

“There’s a variety of reasons for shoppers to opt for at-home delivery, especially with the ongoing pandemic, so we make it easy for them to access high-quality produce without the hassle of actually going into a grocery store.

“In fact, Paradise Fresh was so busy at the height of COVID restrictions that we expanded our team and even purchased a new delivery vehicle.

“We think it’s really important to offer that service, so local people don’t have to miss out on fresh ingredients.”

While the Paradise Fresh website is available, newcomers are encouraged to pick up the phone and get in touch with the friendly team.

“We’re always happy to help customers, especially people who aren’t familiar with us and may have questions,” Mrs Bennett said.

“And, by talking with us, you open yourself up to even greater savings.

“For example, if you’re after a sizable order, give us a ring and we can give you better bang for your buck by charging it as a bulk order at a wholesale price.”

Not only can they help in terms of price but, for added consumer convenience, Paradise Fresh goes a step further to offer specialised orders.

“There’s some fruits and vegetables that may not be readily available elsewhere, such as pomegranates or paw paws,” Mrs Bennett explained.

“But we pride ourselves on being able to order in those specialty items, and we do it in a timely manner.

“If you call us on Wednesday morning, we can have that unique produce fresh in-store by Friday.”

And there really is an emphasis on fresh when it comes to produce sold through this business, with new stock arriving in-store twice every week.

“New produce arrives here every Monday and Thursday evening, so our customers can expect the highest quality foods,” Mrs Bennett said.

“Plus, we have a strong focus on Australian and local produce, so you can rest assured that your order has not long been harvested on-farm.

“And when it arrives here, we package it up and send it out as soon as possible, so none of our stock sits here for long.”

By pairing good quality food with exceptional customer service, Paradise Fresh has become a trusted household name.

It’s this consumer confidence that has allowed the business to expand its capabilities where needed.

As well as growing its number of team members and vehicles over the last two years, Paradise Fresh has also started a special harvest run for farmers.

“We know this time of the year is extremely busy for the agriculture industry and, therefore, many locals are busy too,” Mrs Bennett explained.

“So, last year, we started a harvest run which does weekly deliveries to a range of sizable farms in the local area.

“Some places have employees living on-site, which means a lot of fruit and vegetables are needed to keep those busy workers fed.

“That’s why we have started catering specifically to those out-of-town properties.

“Rather than adding the extra inconvenience of travelling into town for groceries, we help them out during this busy time by bringing the produce straight to their door.”

This year is Paradise Fresh’s second time running the harvest run, travelling as far out as Rowena, which usually isn’t covered in the business’ delivery zone.

Deliveries happen every Thursday, starting last week and running until the end of harvest.

They encourage any farming enterprises, who wish to be involved in this season’s harvest run, to get in touch on (02) 6792 4692.
