Signage suggestions for two key intersections have been voiced to transport authorities.
At a recent Transport for NSW presentation to the Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce, members suggested the department address two sign issues.
The first suggestion was to fix the blank side of a sign on Tibbereena Street near the creek bridge.
Currently, the sign is only used for motorists on Tibbereena Street, those either turning left on to the highway to drive across the bridge or continue straight along the highway past The Crossing Theatre.
It was suggested Transport for NSW make good use of the sign and add directions for Coonabarabran and Gunnedah.
Similarly, a chamber member queried if the department could amend the Kamilaroi Highway sign north of Willow Tree, located on the New England Highway, to include Narrabri.
The sign currently lists Gunnedah and Quirindi, however, a chamber member said they had heard of people continuing north on the New England Highway to Tamworth as there was no direction towards Narrabri.
Transport for NSW staff who were present at the chamber meeting noted the suggestions and said they would be relayed to the department.
