The Narrabri branch of the Red Cross held a fundraiser along Maitland Street last Thursday.
The group set up shop at the main street community caravan from 8am, with a homemade goods sale and raffle.
On offer were cakes, slices, biscuits, jams, handicrafts, throws, scarves, plants and more.
Thanks to a great amount of local support, the Red Cross team sold out before midday.
“We had so many people purchasing goods and raffles tickets, and lots donating too, which is fantastic,” Red Cross president Max Pringle OAM said.
“And we had lots of items on sale – the takeaway treat containers were piled four or more high, and spanned across the whole counter – so we’re just blown away by the support we’ve received.
“The bulk of our goods were sold within an hour and a half of opening.”
As well as the Red Cross helpers pictured, members Di and David Streeter, treasurer Gil Kahl, and honorary cook Claire Black all showed up to help out on the day.
The occasion is one of the local Red Cross’s three latest fundraisers, according to Mr Pringle.
“We did the coffee and cooking for the Namoi Women’s Shed, this produce sale, and our raffle,” he said.
“And all have been very successful thanks to the support of the local community.
“The raffle in particular has gone well – a lot of donations were made to this so, even though we haven’t sold an excessive amount of tickets, we’ve still raised quite a bit of money.”
The raffle raised over $300 on the day, and last week’s produce sale made over $800.
There were three prizes for the raffle, which was drawn on the day after the sale had finished.
First prize is an open order to Coles, valued at $200.
Second prize is a large, printed artwork, including a frame.
And third prize is a set of Sheridan bath towels.
The winners of the raffle can be found in Tuesday’s classifieds.
The funds raised will go directly towards recent disasters, of which there is no shortage.
