A lower peak than predicted in the Narrabri Creek is expected overnight on Monday and into Tuesday, the SES has advised in a flood bulletin.

The creek was anticipated to reach 7.6 metres, however, current predictions put water height peaking lower than the 7.55 metres recorded on Sunday night and Monday morning.

While the creek peak has been revised down, major flooding will continue.

The creek was sitting at 7.45 metres on Monday afternoon and is falling. Water height is expected to fall slightly and remain steady from Monday into Tuesday with major flooding, before falling again.
