The local sporting community has been dealt yet another blow, but as always, it will come out the other side stronger for the experience.

The past few years have seen teams, clubs and competitions all affected by drought, bushfires and COVID-19.

While all of those factors are now in the rear-view mirror, the sporting community now faces the challenge of the 2021 Narrabri Shire floods.

Many local sporting facilities have been affected and will continue to be while the creek continues to rise and the water spreads.

Then, once the water subsides, the tough task of the clean up will begin.

In Narrabri, Collins Park, Hogan Oval, Leitch Oval, Gately Fields and part of Cooma Oval, including the cricket nets, are currently underwater, as are the local skate park and parts of the local golf club’s 18-hole course.

Pictured below are those facilities and fields this morning.
