Narrabri District Cricket Association’s board will hold a meeting tonight at the Narrabri RSL Club where it will discuss its options for resuming the 2021-22 season.

The first five rounds of the season have all been washed out, as will round six this Saturday with Collins Park, Hogan Oval, Leitch Oval and Gately Field all still partially underwater.

NDCA treasurer Luke Meppem told The Courier that the first grade comp was a “50-50 chance” of getting one game in before the Christmas and New Year break, but a lot of work would be required to be completed on the flooded fields and pitches after the water fully subsides.

The second grade teams could potentially play two rounds before the break on synthetic wickets at Cooma Oval and Wee Waa’s Dangar Park.

The T20 Super Slog competition’s draft event was scheduled for Sunday but that could be postponed.

That will be decided tonight, as will a draw for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign.
