The Maitland Street Christmas Carnival will be back on Thursday, December 16.
Carnival organisers, Narrabri Chamber of Commerce, has been planning for the event for many weeks and promises it will be ‘bigger and better than ever.’
“The aim is to encourage the community to get together, support our local businesses on the late shopping night and enjoy the family Christmas atmosphere of the Carnival,” said Chamber president Russell Stewart.
“We are delighted to bring the Christmas Carnival back this year after it was cancelled last year due to COVID regulations.”
The central business block will be closed off from 4pm with a 6pm start scheduled for the carnival.
While a night Christmas shopping opportunity is top of the agenda for the event the chamber has organised the biggest-ever line up of entertainment for the evening, Mr Stewart said.
“We have engaged some top entertainers from Newcastle and other centres.
“There will be music from live bands, food stalls, rides and entertainment. It is a traditional community event – fun for the whole family.”
More to come.
