Narrabri Shire Council’s Maitland Street Christmas Pop Up Shop continues to operate this week in the lead up to Christmas.
The shop forms part of council’s 2021 Christmas Activation business improvement program.
This week marks the final days of the pop up shop’s operation.
Council’s general manager Stewart Todd said the program has been established to promote local business during the festive season.
Twenty-five vendors have traded at the site during its three weeks of operation.
“The initiative was developed following extensive consultation with small business owners, local associations, such as the Narrabri Industrial Network and feedback from the 2020 Retail Revamp,” he said.
“It was then funded through the federal government’s Murray-Darling Basin Economic Development Program.”
Eager shoppers can visit the pop up shop at 119 Maitland Street.
It will operate from 10am to 5pm on Thursday and Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday.
The shop will remain open later on Thursday, the day of Narrabri Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Street Carnival, and will close at 8pm.
Along with the Christmas Pop Up Shop, lights and decorations have been installed across the shire, adding to the festive spirit.
The Christmas tree in Narrabri, set up alongside the Maitland Street post office by the Chamber of Commerce, is also making a welcome contribution to the Christmas cheer in Narrabri as the final countdown to Christmas begins.
