A man appeared in court yesterday charged over an alleged aggravated break-in at Narrabri on Monday.
About 6.10am on Monday, a man allegedly forced entry to a home on Hinds Street and assaulted the occupant, a 31-year-old man, threatening him with a hammer before fleeing.
Officers from Oxley Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which has been forensically examined.
Detectives commenced an investigation and following inquiries attended a home on Baranbar Street, about 10.30am, where a 52-year-old man was arrested
He was taken to Narrabri Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – armed.
The man was refused bail to appear at Moree Local Court on Tuesday.
The men are known to each other.
