Fifteen new cases of COVID-19 in Narrabri Shire are among the 2430 confirmed for the Hunter New England Local Health District in NSW Health’s Friday morning update.
In the four weeks up to 8pm on January 6, 2022, there have been 347 cases recorded from the Narrabri Shire (or from people with a Narrabri Shire address), according to HNELHD.
Hunter New England Health reported a total 18,821 active cases in the district.
In its daily update, the health service said 99 active cases are being cared for in the district’s hospitals. Eleven people are in ICU.

Hunter New England Health also  reported the deaths of two people. A man in his 80s from the Lake Macquarie area died at Wyong Hospital.

He had not received any COVID-19 vaccinations and had underlying health conditions, Hunter New England Health said in its update.
A man in his 70s from the Port Stephens area died at John Hunter Hospital.
He had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions.
