“Further illogicality around the COVID pandemic,” claims a reader. “We started with the Alpha strain of the virus, named after the first letter in the Greek alphabet, followed by Delta named after the fourth letter, and then jumped ahead to the 15th letter, Omicron. What happened to Epsilon which should have followed Delta at number five? Logically, the next COVID variant should be letter number 16, Pi. We have earlier seen Beta and Gamma variants as well. Let’s hope we don’t get to the 24th and last letter in the alphabet, Omega,for a future virus variant.”
