Taiwanese people have taken to the streets to protest Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. The Taiwanese will be watching the scenes from Ukraine with unease given China’s eagerness to see Taiwan under its control. The unfolding situation between Russia and Ukraine would strike similar parallels if a situation was to occur between China and Taiwan. Taiwan, like Ukraine, is a democratic nation. The opposing countries – Russia and China – are known for their oppressive regimes.
