Recently I was advised that the Pilliga Minnom Mission Reserve was sold and is now in private ownership.

Who was the Minnom Mission Reserve sold to?

The Pilliga Reserve was apparently formed in 1902 with an area of around 60 acres being reserved with a further 85 acres added in 1908.

In 1912 a school was established and the Board then turned the reserve into a station and a manager was appointed.

Apart from the school, a saw mill, houses and a cemetery was also established.

The land is of significant cultural heritage.

Our family are buried there.

What will happen to the bodies of our loved ones?

Will there remains be disturbed?

What formal assurance did any Aboriginal Department receive from the new land owner?

I have already contacted Pilliga and Walgett LALC to no avail.
