It’s time to dust off your black-tie suit and best gala gown because Narrabri Industrial Network Inc is hosting its first annual gala evening on Saturday, May 7, at The Crossing Theatre.
“It’s been a while since Narrabri has had the opportunity to get together and celebrate all the fantastic things going on,” said NIN’s business development manager Kodey Stanford.
“There’s so many new people, businesses and industries that have come to town, so it will be great to celebrate how far Narrabri has come as a region despite challenges like drought and COVID, but it’s also an opportunity to fundraise.”
For the gala, NIN is partnering with the newly formed Rotaract Club of Narrabri, the charity is run by youth aged 19 to 33.
Rotaract is an arm of Rotary International that encourages young people to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service.
“They really want to ensure that the youth in our region have opportunities and that they have everything available to them,” said Kodey.
“This will give them a major platform to raise awareness within the community and also raise some money for the charity.”
It is a core value of NIN to give back to the community and that’s why it’s incredibly excited to support the Narrabri Rotaract Club.
The networking night will also be NIN’s official launch event, following its formation in 2020.
Readers would be familiar with the wonderful work of the non-for-profit organisation in promoting the diverse Narrabri region and connecting businesses with resources, facilities, and offering support so members can prosper, innovate and adapt.
The group’s key purpose is to advocate for opportunities, highlight the benefits of investment and showcase the goods and services available locally to contractors and businesses conducting major projects in the Narrabri region.
As NIN’s first major event, the gala will make a meaningful impact by showcasing the region’s capabilities, NIN’s core values, and provide extensive networking opportunities.
And it’s a night not to be missed, with an impressive line-up of speakers, a delicious three-course meal, and the chance for guests to meet decision-makers, connect with like-minded business people and gain insights from experienced entrepreneurs achieving success in our booming region.
“Anyone who wants to be associated with the growth going on here really should be in the room,” said NIN president Justin Smith.
“We’ll be gathering people from the larger industries; our focus is coal seam gas, mining, inland rail, agriculture, local government.
“If anyone wants to have five minutes with a politician, we’ll try and get a mic in front of the political leaders there so we can talk to them about the developments that are happening, the funding that’s available and the opportunities for Narrabri as a central hub.”
The keynote speaker on the night will be Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise chief executive officer Ali Davenport, who leads a highly motivated team and believes her region’s strength is the diversity of the economy and the resourcefulness of its people.
TSBE is an independent, member-driven economic development organisation actively linking its business community to opportunities across the Toowoomba, Western Downs, Maranoa and surrounding areas.
Attendees will also be treated to local live entertainment, and there will be a silent auction in support of the Narrabri Rotaract Club.
“It is a night to celebrate the incredible efforts of our hard-working community and give the Narrabri region a night to remember.”
