Narrabri High School students and staff were presented with a donation from ADFAS Narrabri to go towards upgrading facilities for the schools’ drama department at the assembly on Wednesday, May 11.
The presentation was made by ADFAS Narrabri chair Elizabeth Campbell and secretary Kay Durham to Narrabri High School head English and Drama teacher Annie Manchee.
ADFAS Narrabri is part of an Australia-wide non-profit organisation ADFAS (Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society).
The Narrabri group, alongside 36 societies across Australia, provide illustrated arts lectures throughout the year at The Crossing Theatre.
At the commencement of lecture season when memberships open at the beginning of the year, supporters are asked if they wish to contribute to the ADFAS Young Arts award.
Many of our members very generously do so, and this enables the committee to seek out a deserving arts group, school, band, or individual young musician/arts student to receive this award.
ADFAS distribute the award amongst young recipients throughout the district through collaboration with teachers and group leaders.
