Fuel theft is an ongoing concern throughout rural NSW especially given the recent rises in fuel prices, NSW Police have announced.

Rural crime investigators encourage all landholders to be vigilant and increase security measures around their fuel storage.

People are encouraged to keep a lookout for and report suspicious activity they see in the area.

Among the tips from NSW Police to landholders is to lock boundary gates, consider installing security cameras to monitor entrance points and homestead areas and keep a daily diary of all activities on the property. Landholders are encouraged to download information in relation to fuel tank security from the NSW Police website.
