The Rotary Club of Narrabri’s Maitland Street book sale has surpassed another milestone, now amassing $30,000.

Book lovers young and old, locals and visitors, are flocking to the fundraising shop to look through the massive collection of books across a range of genres and authors.

Rotary estimates that 300 metres of books have been sold at the sale.

And while happy customers continue to leave the shop with their arms laden with books, donations continue to stream in.

The proceeds from the sale are put towards community causes.

Book shop coordinators Bruce and Joan Pyke and Pat Norrie are keeping the doors open as community and visitor interest continues.

Reading interests of all tastes are covered, with the range including fiction and non-fiction as well as different genres in each section. There are also books for all ages, including some special interest items, as well as DVDs.

Former Rotarian Bruce Ireland has supported the initiative by providing the Maitland Street shop free of charge. Club member Tim Logan provides the use of his warehouse for storage and Narrabri Farm Centre acts as a book donation point.

The shop opens on Thursday and Friday as well as Saturday mornings.
