A traveller returning to Darwin airport from Bali was fined $2664 when a biosecurity detector dog’s nose picked up undeclared two burgers and a ham croissant. The fine is twice the cost of an airfare to Bali. This follows an Australian woman who was fined $2664 for failing to declare a sandwich at the airport after returning from Singapore. Turned out to be an expensive ending to a holiday.
