There are just four rounds remaining in Narrabri Netball Association’s 2022 winter campaign regular season after Saturday’s round 10 games at the Bev Burrows Courts.

A week after playing its first match since Saturday, June 4, following two forfeit wins and a bye as well as the mid-season holiday break, Fever was forced to sit out again as it prevailed by forfeit against the Golfie Grubs.

Fever is currently first, two wins clear of the second-placed Wee Waa Flames. Those two sides play against one another in round 11, and if Fever prevails in that match, it could have secured the minor premiership and the automatic A-grade grand final qualification that comes with placing first.

The Flames jumped from fourth to second in round 10 after beating Not Fast But Furious 33-23. They went into that match a point behind Not Fast But Furious and Tourist Tornadoes, and their win saw them jump above both of those sides.

The Tornadoes had the round 10 bye and fell to fourth, while Not Fast But Furious dropped to third.

The other round 10 match saw fifth-placed Pharmacy Flamingos move within three points of the two sides above them on the ladder when they outscored sixth-placed Vicious and Delicious 37-9.

In the B-grade competition, last-placed Wilga Warriors scored their maiden on-court win of the 2022 campaign. Two weeks after losing but being awarded a win after their opponents breached a competition rule, the Warriors outscored another team for the first time in 2022 when they downed Win Diesel 27-23.

Meanwhile, the team at the other end of the B-grade table was at its brilliant best.

That is All Nets, which continued its run as outright leaders with a massive 60-6 victory against Hot Shots.

Second-placed B-grade side The Goats remained just one win adrift of the ladder leaders after they beat Win Or Booze 34-20.

The other match saw third-placed Pretty Poison go up against fourth-placed Blue Rebels and score a 23-6 win.

In the under-11/12 competition, the two Wee Waa sides finished the round ranked first and second following comfortable wins. Namoi Cotton Thunderbirds beat third-placed Magpies 12-5 to remain a win-and-a-half (three points) clear of C and W Firebirds on the ladder, following the Firebirds’ 13-2 victory against Swifts.

The other match was won by Giants, which outscored Lightning 12-2.

Wee Waa’s other junior side, Valley Vixens, is also on top of its ladder as it leads the under-9/10 division. The Vixens prevailed in one of their two matches on Saturday when they kicked off proceedings with a 4-0 win against The Diamonds.

The Roses then beat The Diamonds 6-0 before edging out Valley Vixens 3-2.
