Marie Redman, Cindy Neil and Lisa Pillar are Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s 2022 club triples champions following an eight-shot final victory at Narrabri Bowling Club on Saturday.

They defeated Ronnie Dewar, Dawn Armstrong and Sue Solomon 22 shots to 14 in the 21-end match on the John McNamara Owen Campey Green.

Redman, Neil and Pillar won three of the first four ends to establish an early 6-2 lead before their opponents claimed four of the next five ends to go ahead 10-8.

However, Redman, Neil and Pillar scored a six on the 10th end to go in front and make the score 14-10, and they led for the rest of the match.

Dewar, Armstrong and Solomon trailed by just four shots at the completion of the 15th end and were well and truly still in the match, however, Redman, Neil and Pillar then scored one shot on each of the next four ends to make the score 21-13 with just two ends left to play.

One shot on the 20th end to Dewar, Armstrong and Solomon reduced their deficit to seven shots, but Redman, Neil and Pillar sealed the game with one last point on the 21st end to make the final score 22-14.

The victory saw Neil become a 2022 season champion for the second time in three weeks after she won the pairs title with Armstrong on Saturday, July 16. She was also a club singles finalist back in May when she went down to Debbie Gleeson in that competition’s decider.

Redman and Pillar have also been in excellent form throughout the 2022 campaign.

Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s consistency singles competition will get underway this Saturday, while the men’s pennant season will also begin that day.

In the women’s consistency singles campaign, Lisa Pillar will challenge Lorraine Scott (marker – Debbie Gleeson), and Cindy Neil will challenge Glennis Godden (marker – Ronnie Dewar).

Meanwhile, social bowls was played last Thursday.

Rhonda Fitzgerald and Cecile defeated Kay Carolan and Berice Eather 12-7, while Lyn Wedesweiler played swinging lead and with Marie Redman and Gloria Campey beat Di Chessels and Glennis Godden 15-11.
