Grumley Builders continued their red hot start to the 2022 Narrabri Touch men’s competition on Monday night with a top-of-the-table victory that saw them move into outright first on the ladder.

The defending champions entered round six as one of just two men’s sides that had started the campaign with four consecutive wins across the opening five weeks, the other being Win Or Booze.

Those two teams went head-to-head on Monday and the Grumley Builders prevailed 6-3 to move into top spot.

Win Or Booze dropped from first to third following that loss.

They were also overtaken by in-form side Gee Bangers, which scored their fourth win of the season when they outscored Cougars 9-2.

Gee Bangers’ only loss so far in 2022 came back in the second round when they were beaten by two points by the ladder leaders.

Lations remained in fourth spot on the men’s ladder on Monday when they scored a 9-1 win against NFC.

Just below them, the Wilga Pelicans jumped from sixth to fifth when they kept a clean sheet in a 6-0 victory against Ballbusters.

That win saw the Pelicans overtake DTA Treated Timber Lumberjacks, which had the bye in round six.

The Lumberjacks dropped from fifth to sixth place and are still ahead of Cougars, Ballbusters and NFC, which are ranked seventh to ninth on the ladder, respectively.

In the women’s competition, Agies Ladies, SPA Redbacks and Specialised Quarries and Concrete all won in the sixth round of the season on Monday and one game ended in a draw.

Agies Ladies outscored Blue Birds 9-3 to remain in outright first place on the competition ladder as the only side to have won all five games so far this season.

Hot on their heels are the other two round six winners, which have both now won four of their opening five games in the 2022 campaign.

The Redbacks are ranked second on the ladder following their 11-0 victory against Touch’n’go, while Specialised Quarries and Concrete is ranked third after its 6-0 win against Wilga Westies.

The other round six game saw CBRE and Hounddogs contest a 2-all draw.
