A major environment and recycling milestone was reached last weekend with eight billion bottles, cans and drink cartons returned through the NSW Return and Earn return network. Since it began in 2017, $800 million has been refunded to people in NSW. A huge win for the environment, with all plastic containers and glass bottles returned given a new life and turned back into new food and drink containers. Return and Earn is the largest litter reduction initiative introduced in NSW. It offers a 10 cent refund to consumers for each deposit.
