I found the article about Mother of Millions extremely interesting.

They have been the bane of my life for about 60 years, ever since my late mother-in-law gave my small son some plants for his little garden.

Hidden amongst them must have been some mother of millions because, before long, they sprouted up everywhere-not knowing what they were, I had visions of the ‘ triffids’ coming to get me!

Ever since then, I have been pulling them out and burning them – all to no avail.

One year, we had a huge pile of them – I used to put them in a dog biscuit bag as I pulled them out.

My husband decided to burn the huge stack all at once and unfortunately fell into the fire necessitating an Air Ambulance flight to Royal North Shore Hospital for skin grafts and other treatment. So, the ‘triffids’ did come to get us!

I continued pulling them out and then resorted to spraying, but we still haven’t been able to eradicate them.

It looks like they’ll be in my garden forever as there seems to be no end in sight for this noxious weed.
