Created by hand in Australia, there is an abundance of country style soft furnishings with a modern twist bringing fun touches to the farmhouse look, right here in Narrabri.

Runner-up in the Whitehaven Coal Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards’ ‘Best Home-based business’ category was Christy Snars’ small family-owned enterprise, Farmhouse Life and Style. Christy sources home-grown textile designers and the stunning results include hand sewn soft furnishings such as cushions, tablecloths, napkins, table runners, and tea towels,

Farmhouse Life and Style began as a blog in 2018. Based in Queensland at the time, the online blog showcased Christy’s love for decorating country style homes in regional Australia. After encouragement from friends, in early 2020 Christy decided to further share her ideas with the world through the sale of locally sewn home decor products.

Now residing in Narrabri with husband Andrew and children Sophie, Abigail and Madeleine the business is forging ahead with local and regional retailers stocking Farmhouse Life and Style products. As well as in Narrabri, Christy’s home furnishings can be purchased through her website with delivery in the Narrabri township or they can be found in stores in Narrabri, Gunnedah, Quirindi and as far afield as Dungog, Grafton, Lockhart, Morven, and Roma.

Christy was delighted to receive her award at the Whitehaven Coal Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards dinner on Saturday September 3. “We make cushions and napery that is inspired by the modern farmhouse and along with our small team of wonderful sewers we ensure that every item is lovingly crafted in Australia.

“I have a love for interior design and helping others create a beautiful home and hope that others might also be inspired to create beautiful spaces in their homes”.
