Two 16-year-old boys are alleged to have attempted to break into a Gibbons Street home in the early hours of Friday, September 16.
The two boys were captured on CCTV attempting to gain entry to the residence.
The CCTV security system alerted the victim inside the home of the outside movement. When the resident disturbed the offenders, they quickly fled the scene.
A neighbour apprehended one of the young offenders until police arrived on the scene while the other boy ran away on foot.
The apprehended boy will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
Later in the day, the second 16-year-old was arrested and charged with aggravated break-and-enter with intent to steal.
Woman arrested in Narrabri for multiple offences throughout Hunter, New England regions
Narrabri police arrested a woman wanted for multiple offences in relation to various alleged incidents throughout the Hunter and New England regions.
The 36-year-old woman is alleged to have committed offences in Gundy, Newcastle, Muswellbrook, Quirindi, Tamworth, Blandford, Warrah, Scone and Murrurundi.
Narrabri police received information to be alert for a vehicle driving through the region, driven by someone believed to be subject to some dishonesty offences.
In the morning of September 8, police in a neighbouring town spotted the vehicle.
By 8.50am, the vehicle was spotted by Narrabri officers at a Dangar Street petrol station. A male driver was arrested and taken to Narrabri Police Station. He was issued multiple infringement notices, including not wearing a seatbelt and use unregistered vehicle.
The woman came to Narrabri Police Station, and officers discovered the woman was wanted for a string of alleged offences.
Property was located in the vehicle pertaining to some of the offences.
The woman was charged with one count of dishonestly obtain for financial advantage, one count of entering closed lands, one count of break-and-enter, one count of break-and-enter do indictable offence not steal, five counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception, one count of break-and-enter steal, one count of steal motor vehicle, one count of drive unregistered motor vehicle, one count of drive uninsured vehicle and four counts of goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
Bail was refused, and she will appear in court on Tuesday, September 27.
