The successful auction of Stoney Creek Road property “Rosewood” on Thursday, September 29, again confirmed strong confidence in district rural properties.
Sold on behalf of Stuart Park through Nutrien Harcourts Narrabri, the grazing and farming property attracted keen interest from mainly local and some interstate buyers.
The auction saw more than 50 people attend and 12 bidders register.
Bidding started at $3 million, with Rosewood finally knocked down for $5.47 million to a local farming family.
Selling agent Paul Thomas said he carried out over 20 inspections of the property and that the quality of Rosewood’s soils and pastures combined with its excellent outlook and close proximity to town made it a unique listing.
“The farm covers a total area of 530 hectares (1311 acres) and was bought by Stuart Park from Bill Balfe in 1971.
“Mr Park developed the farm over many years into the first-class district property it is today.
“Mr Park said that the property had been good to him over the years and wished the new owners every success for the future.”
