Families filled Narrabri High School’s Betty Berriman hall to celebrate students’ success at the annual presentation night.
Awards were presented across all year levels and paid tribute to the students’ extraordinary efforts across all subjects.
Incoming school captains Jesse Weekes and Miranda Hamilton welcomed guests to the presentation. The incoming school leaders were presented with their badges during the investiture.
Emmjay Baker delivered the welcome to country which was followed by the National Anthem, led by Ashleigh Roberts and Katherine Crosara.
Principal Simon Warden addressed the gathering before the presentation of awards.
Students were acknowledged in the presentation of special awards, sports awards and year level awards.
Community representatives were invited to present awards to students with Narrabri High School staff.
Dr Warwick Stiller (CSIRO) presented Year 7 awards and was followed by Ian Taylor (CRDC), Year 8, Peter Mirtschin (CSIRO), Year 9, Cheryl Hennessy (SIAHTO), Year 10, Gordon Cain (Narrabri Men’s Shed), Year 11, and Narrabri Shire deputy mayor Darrell Tiemens Year 12.
Robert Smith, Mark Laird, Wayne Hannaford and Tracey Lennox were invited on stage for the presentation of special awards.
Breaks between categories allowed presentation night-goers to be entertained by musical performances.
The evening ended with music students performing ‘Do They Know it’s Christmas’.

University of Newcastle vice chancellor’s award (academic excellence) – Erin Flower.
UNE vice chancellor’s high achievement prize (academic exellence) – Sarah Freeman and Martha Harvey.
AMPOL prize (best all rounder) – Martha Harvey and May Krishna.
Reuben F Scarf prize (commitment) – Poppy Smith.
ADF award (future innovators) – Poppy Smith and Will Faris.
Stephanie Stuart award (inspiring and courageous sportsperson) – Holly Ford.
David Laird prize (commitment and dedication to agriculture) – Charlie Cooke.
Brad Hannaford prize (mathematical insight) – Erin Flower and Poppy Smith.
Brendan Lennox award (commitment and persistence) – Jacqui Iramu.
