Emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle fire on Turrawan Road late on Thursday night.
The incident was reported to authorities shortly after 10pm after an approaching motorist noticed a vehicle well-ablaze on the side of the
road.
RFS crews from across the district responded to the fire in addition to local police.
The vehicle had been left on the side of the road earlier on after experiencing mechanical issues.
Fire crews got to work to stop the spread of the vehicle fire to nearby grassland.
Firefighters took just under an hour to extinguish the blaze using specialised tactics and compressed air breathing apparatus.
Police are treating the matter as suspicious.
