The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by New South Wales Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital retrieval from the Boggabri Hospital to the John Hunter Hospital overnight on Wednesday.
A 38-year-old man was reported as suffering from a serious vascular injury.
The man was stabilised at Boggabri by the helicopter critical care medical team prior to being flown direct to Newcastle to undergo further specialist treatment.
