Electrical improvements are underway at the Yarrie Lake campgrounds to boost capacity at the picturesque facility.
The number of powered sites will increase from four to 14 as a result of the works.
Campground-goers will also notice cabling changes, with overhead wiring to be placed underground.
Yarrie Lake Flora and Fauna Trust chair Lester Kelly said the works were thanks to $99,868 the organisation had received through Crown Lands.
To increase the capacity, the transformer at the site will also be upgraded.
“This brings the campgrounds up to the current standards,” Mr Kelly said.
“The trust will also install a new electric barbecue for patrons to access free-of-charge.”
The upgrade works at Yarrie Lake also allows for future expansion at one of the shire’s best tourism attractions.
Mr Kelly said it is hoped Yarrie Lake will receive new amenities in the future.
Electrical upgrades also enable the trust to add solar power to the facility.
The upgrades, as well as works on a test bore and an announcement to seal Yarrie Lake Circuit, will ensure the lake’s status as an important tourist attraction in the Narrabri Shire, and more broadly the North West region.
