On Tuesday, February 21 the Diocese of Armidale celebrated the 27th World Day of Consecrated life at St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Church in Narrabri.
This is the day the church celebrates the tremendous witness of men and women who have opened their hearts and offered their lives to God and his people as religious sisters, priests, and brothers.
There were nearly fifty priests, nuns and brothers who travelled from Armidale, Inverell, Moree, Gunnedah, Wee Waa, Glen Innes, Walgett, Uralla, and Quirindi.
The guests were welcomed by the parishioners at the presbytery and served morning tea.
At 11am a mass was held by Bishop Michael Kennedy. The Bishop of Armidale concelebrated with all the priests of the diocese.
Many parishioners and students from St Francis Xavier’s school also attended the celebration.
The parish priest Father Sabu Pulimalayil said the wonderful celebration was a memorable day for the parish.
