The Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s 2023 minor singles competition got underway at Narrabri Bowling Club on Thursday, March 30.

Heather Caton defeated Rhonda Fitzgerald 26-18, Berice Eather beat Glennis Godden 25-15, Lyn Tuckey had a strong victory over Di Chessells, and Janice Foxe received a forfeit from Carol Demamiel.

Those four winners have advanced to the semi-finals, which will be both played this Thursday, April 6.

Lyn Tuckey will challenge Heather Caton in one semi-final (marker – Di Chessells) and Berice Eather will meet Janice Foxe in the other (marker – Glennis Godden).

The Narrabri Bowling Club also hosted the second Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club consistency singles semi-final on Saturday.

Lorraine Scott defeated Cecile in that match and will now meet Helen Woodward in the final on Saturday, April 15.

The marker will be Veronica Dewar.

Social bowls was also played last Thursday.

Dawn Armstrong and Cecile went down 22-12 against Helen Woodward and Eva Sadler in three-bowl pairs, while Jan Etheridge, Lyn Wedesweiler and Kay Carolan defeated Carolynne Tomlinson, Trish Allison and Mary Wheeler 15-11 in three-bowl triples.

There was one game of mixed pairs played on Saturday, which saw Ron Ryan and Cindy Neil overcome Ian Macmillan and Kay Carolan 21-12.

There will be no games played this Saturday, April 8, due to Easter.
