The Narrabri Eisteddfod committee, led by president Dianne Shann, is busy with preparations for the 2023 event to be held at The Crossing Theatre from Monday, May 22 to Thursday, June 1.

There are three genres in the eisteddfod – music, dance and speech and drama.

The music section will be running from May 22-23, the dance section from May 26-28, and speech and drama from May 30 to June 1.

Three accomplished adjudicators are looking forward to judging the events which will feature groups, choirs and bands, and individuals once again performing in what they hope to be a stellar year.

The music evening session will include a lovely evening’s entertainment featuring instrumental and vocal performances.

This session will be held on Monday, May 22 commencing at 6.30pm.

On Friday, May 26 and Saturday May 27, commencing at 6.30pm, there will be two evening dance sessions to enjoy.

These will showcase colourful performances encompassing a variety of dance styles including classical, jazz, modern and tap, as well as group performances.

Speech and drama is well supported with district primary schools and high schools entering for poetry recitals, mime, and public speaking.

“This is a great opportunity to expose children to the performing arts on stage,” said president Mrs Shann.

“We are excited to see good support from local schools across the district and further afield.

“Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy any performance.

“The cost of entry fee is $5 per session or $25 per family.”
