The Rotary Club of Narrabri has announced three finalists for its coveted Pride of Workmanship Award.

This year’s nominees came from a variety of industries and businesses.

A winner will be announced at a dinner ceremony being held this Saturday night.

This year’s finalists are Eden Rozendaal, agent at KR Property, Nicole Conrad, sales assistant/administrator at Stoltenberg Flooring Xtra and Claire Allen and Cathy Charles, of Narrabri Public School.

Eden joined her mother’s growing real estate business, KR Property, and now has a class 2 real estate licence and is also a qualified stock and station agent.

In addition to her real estate work, she has successfully established a virtual property staging business.

“Her commitment to KR Property has been outstanding,” her nomination read.

“She is always willing to go above and beyond for clients.”

Fellow finalist Nicole was praised for her dedication to Maitland Street business Stoltenberg Flooring Xtra.

“She is always at work early and sets up the office and shop front every morning,” her nomination read.

“She has taken it upon herself to learn everything she can about each product we have in the store so she can give the best advice to customers when they come in to make their flooring choices.”

Claire and Cathy took it upon themselves to introduce a therapy dog program at Narrabri Public School.

“These two inspiring educators did not take no for an answer.

“They persisted through red tape, departmental policies, procedural guidelines, risk assessments and naysayers,” their nomination read.

“After two years of research and planning, a suitable dog was found, Daisy the black Labrador.

“Cathy Charles, her owner and a learning support teacher at NPS, alongside Daisy, has undertaken months of training through Sue Duncan (Narrabri’s dog trainer) and NSW Therapy Dog training.

“This awe-inspiring program has unexpectedly helped so many staff and students.”

President of the Rotary Club of Narrabri Dylan Smith praised the quality of the nominations received for this year’s award.

“It’s heartening to hear about the many people who go above and beyond in their professional pursuits,” he said.

“Rotary is honoured to celebrate their contributions to the community.”

If people know of someone they would like to nominate for the award, he encouraged people to enter them when nominations open next year for the 2024 Pride of Workmanship Award.
