Narrabri business ATC Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is looking forward to enhancing its offering to the community following its addition of a workshop and office.

The business now calls Wee Waa Road home in its expansive workshop which has already enabled further growth for the locally-owned business.

Owner Troy Cooper said the new premises would ensure ATC could continue to provide training and mentoring opportunities for young people.

“We want to help them get a good foundation,” he said.

“We are big on giving people opportunities.”

Mr Cooper described the move to Wee Waa Road as a step forward for the business he operates with his wife, Amber.

The move has seen Mrs Cooper become more involved in the business while Mr Cooper focuses on managing their staff.

“It has helped us to grow with our staff,” Mr Cooper said.

“At the end of the day, they are like family.”

Mr Cooper described the expansion as being the right opportunity at the right time.

“It all went very quickly,” he said.

“We seized the moment while it was there.

“At the end of October, we will have been here 12 months.”

Establishing the Wee Waa Road premises was by no means an easy feat and required blood, sweat and tears.

“Some times it feels like we haven’t done a lot, but then we look back and see the progress.

“We have come from humble beginnings to where we are now.

“All things are possible if you dream it.”

Mr Cooper paid tribute to the support of his wife which has enabled the expansion.

ATC Refrigeration & Air Conditioning has been operating for almost eight years and Mr and Mrs Cooper have plans for continued growth and expansion in their Narrabri premises.

“We want to establish a showroom at the front of the site,” Mr Cooper said.

“We want to increase stock on the floor so we get it out faster and more efficiently.

“We would like to expand the shed and make it more user friendly.”

Mr Cooper would also like to see the business embrace 21st century technology by utilising VR for the shopfront displays.

The larger workshop space has meant ATC is able to take on more commercial work.

“We have triple the amount of equipment coming in,” Mr Cooper said.

“We want to be here for our generation, our kids’ generation and the next generation.

“We want Narrabri to have the best future.”

ATC has now branched out to include Seeley air conditioning products.

Seeley is an Australian company and has a track record of manufacturing its products in Australia.

“They’ve got a cool take on what they want to do for Australia,” Mr Cooper said.

While the products and business itself continues to grow, as does the experience and knowledge of the well-established team.

Connor Hill has been with ATC Refrigeration & Air Conditioning since the start of the business.

Brock Schwager recently finished his qualification and Jakeb Nipperess is part way through the third year of his qualification.
