CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, has announced a new leader for its cotton research work at Myall Vale.

Rod Jackson, currently the director of the NSW DPI’s adjacent Australian Cotton Research Institute, will be joining CSIRO at the end of August 2023.

He will manage all of the CSIRO people on site, including in the breeding and systems areas.

Current CSIRO group leader Warwick Stiller will continue to lead the cotton breeding program on site.

The CSIRO Cotton Research Facility at Myall Vale continues to grow in support of the cotton industry in Australia and internationally, this year unveiling a major $25 million upgrade to research facilities.
