Local businesses will again be in the spotlight as Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce prepares for its annual gala awards dinner.

Chamber president Russell Stewart said he was delighted to confirm that the presentation dinner, traditionally a gala event on the business and community calendar, would be staged on Saturday, September 9.

“The chamber anticipates another sold out event,” Mr Stewart said.

“This is a celebration of our business community and great opportunity for everyone to get together and applaud local business enterprise.”

The 2023 Santos – Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Business Awards will be the 17th staged by the chamber.

The 2022 awards staged a triumphant return following the previous pandemic affected years.

This year’s event will again see local small businesses acknowledged across the spectrum of their activities in many categories from innovation to customer service.

“The chamber has been fielding many enquiries about the awards night – it is highly sought after,” said Mr Stewart.

Mr Stewart anticipates the awards dinner will again be a capacity event at The Crossing Theatre.

Last year’s celebration was a sell-out weeks prior to the event.

The community will be invited to nominate local businesses for recognition and congratulations by their business peers and the wider community.

“The chamber applauds its business community and invites everyone to join in,” Mr Stewart said.

Tickets for the business awards presentation dinner have now gone on sale at The Crossing Theatre and Mr Stewart encouraged people and businesses to purchase tickets as soon as they can to guarantee a spot at the dinner.

Ticket prices this year will be $110 for chamber members and $125 for non-members. A three-course meal and drinks package is incorporated into the ticket price.

“A ticket to the awards dinner is exceptional value for money,” Mr Stewart said.

“It is a great opportunity for businesses to come along and celebrate their achievements, and their staff, knowing that everything is included in that ticket price.”

The annual Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards is one of the longest established, and most successful, local business promotions across the northern inland region.

“The business awards is a fantastic recognition for our local businesses, but also a significant boost to our community,” Mr Stewart said.

Mr Stewart estimates the chamber dinner has contributed more than $500,000 to The Crossing Theatre.

“The awards dinner is a major client of the venue,” Mr Stewart said.

This year, Santos is a naming rights sponsor of the event following on from Whitehaven Coal.

Mr Stewart said Whitehaven’s valued support of the chamber will continue.

“The chamber again thanks industry supporters for their continuing, generous sponsorship of the business awards,” Mr Stewart said.
