Achievements acknowledged in NSW Parliament

Recent achievements in the Narrabri community have been acknowledged in the NSW Parliament.

Member for Barwon Roy Butler paid tribute to The Courier’s managing director Wanda Dunnet after she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in June.

Mrs Dunnet received the honour in recognition of her service to the print media industry.

Mrs Dunnet maintains active involvement across the print media industry at a state and national level. She is vice president of Country Press NSW and maintains a keen interest in the peak national newspaper body, Country Press Australia.

“I also thank her for the years of dedication to deliver the news and events across her community,” Mr Butler said.

Mr Butler also praised the success of the 2023 Stars of Narrabri Dance for Cancer, held in May.

This year’s Stars event raised a record $115,000.

“I thank the Stars of Narrabri and the behind-the-scenes organisers for the event for dedicating their time to raising money for cancer,” Mr Butler said.
