The Meals and Wheels organisation has recently moved premises to 65 Maitland Street, opening its doors to a fresh new beginning.

July 28 marked the transition from former premises located in the Centreway Arcade.

The larger premises have allowed for the stocking of a wide variety of soups, desserts and frozen meals onsite for customer needs.

Hot meals are still prepared and collected fresh daily from the Whiddon Robert Young kitchen.

Staff and committee members have been busy shifting and making final adjustments to the offices and storeroom.

“We are delighted to be able to move to the larger premises”, Narrabri Meals on Wheels service coordinator Donna MacMillan told The Courier.

“We are now much more visible and accessible to the general public and to those who may need our services.

“We had definitely outgrown the office we were in and are excited about setting up our new premises with so much space to work with.

“We are extremely grateful to the many people who assisted us with our move.

“The Rotary Club of Narrabri who have been an enormous help, rocking up to give the interior a few fresh coats of paint before the planned relocation.

“We wish to thank Troy Cooper and the boys from a local refrigeration and air-conditioning company who very kindly moved our large freezer for us, and also friends and family who all pitched in.

“Narrabri Meals On Wheels has always been about assisting our community and we were overwhelmed with how the community helped us when we needed it.

“We look forward to settling in and welcoming Narrabri residents through the doors.”
