The Narrabri Red Cross volunteers enjoyed a Christmas luncheon at the Narrabri Bowling Club on Wednesday, November 15.

After a recent successful raffle and a street stall held on November 9, it was time for the dedicated volunteers to take a break for the holiday season.

Red Cross Australia helps people find shelter, find support, and find lost loved ones who have gone missing.

When immigrants arrive in Australia seeking safety, the organisation helps them to make ends meet and settle into their new communities.

The Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. As an organisation independent of government, and with no political, religious, or cultural affiliations, the aim is to improve people’s lives and build their resilience – no matter who they are or where they live.

One of the leading watchdog organisations, Charity Navigator, gives the Red Cross its highest overall rating — four stars.

The Red Cross also meets all 20 BBB Wise Giving Alliance standards of accountability and has earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency — the highest available seal — from Candid/GuideStar.

Although not present at the luncheon, president Max Pringle OAM said he is thankful for all the assistance he receives from the members. “Nothing is achieved without commitment and the members are all truly committed.”
