The Taylor Swift phenomenon has come and gone, from Australian concert venues at least. The extraordinary popularity of Ms Swift is akin to that of the Beatles of an era gone by. But those with the benefit of being around for both Beatles’ and Taylor’s popularity eras would argue that the Beatles had a massively bigger impact around the world. Cities came to a halt when they arrived – notably Adelaide which saw almost the whole urban population line the street from the airport to the Beatles’ hotel in 1964.
