The large crowd of attendees spilled onto the street to commemorate the fallen at the Baan Baa dawn service.

Residents of Baan Baa and the Boggabri RSL Sub-branch members felt that it was one of the biggest gatherings for many years with a few saying the largest ever.

The crowd estimate was 350 to 400 people.

Everyone appreciated the members of the Narrabri Shire band for their support, especially since they attended the Baan Baa dawn service, the Boggabri service and then they returned to Narrabri to support the Narrabri service.

Rev Nick Stone gave the memorial address while three young members of the Baan Baa community did themselves and their families proud by reading prayers during the service.

Eight-year-old Claire Wannan delivered the prayer of thanksgiving, seven-year-old Cameron McClung the prayer for the king and the prayer for the nation was delivered by 12-year-old George Wannan.

At the conclusion of the dawn service Mr Eather thanked those present for being there to remember and invited everyone to view the honour rolls in the hall of those who enrolled from Baan Baa in both world wars, and national service 1951 to 1972.

After the service it was time to renew friendships and have a yarn over a sausage sandwich, tea, coffee and other refreshments at the pub.
