Narrabri’s Variety Bash fundraising duo, Tracey Rex and Stuart Black, have started their week-long journey throughout NSW and part of Queensland.

This year’s NSW Variety Bash started from Gunnedah on Sunday morning.

At the starting line, Stuart was decked out in his Yoshi costume while Tracey was dressed as Princess Peach, ready to embark on the 2400-kilometre journey.

For Tracey, this marks her 21st bash and for Stuart, it his 10th – a milestone that is certainly worth celebrating.

Speaking with The Courier previously about this year’s bash, Tracey estimated she has raised up to $200,000 since she started taking part in the Variety Bash all those years ago.

“We do it because we can, and it makes such a difference,” Tracey told The Courier.

“We enjoy the fun and camaraderie of it all.”

This year’s bash is taking in parts of North West NSW and will pass through Narrabri today, May 23.

While the bash doesn’t make an official stop in Narrabri, expect to see the distinct vehicles come through town on their way to Mullaley.

The Variety Bash supports Variety, the children’s charity, helping kids from all backgrounds who are sick, disadvantaged or living with special needs to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
