At around 3.30pm on Friday, July 5, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on a primary mission to Gunnedah.

A man in his 20s sustained lower back injuries in a fall from a truck at a rest stop on the Kamilaroi Highway west of Gunnedah.

The patient was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Gunnedah Hospital.

The helicopter’s critical care medical team took over treatment and he was airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a stable condition.
