There is a fair bit of unkind commentary around the candidacy of US President Joe Biden for a second term. Among the outpouring of comment in the US is some amusing sarcasm as well. Gerard Baker in the Wall Street Journal writes ‘like all politicians whose egos dwarf their talents, Joe Biden ascended the greasy pole (of politics) … ‘leading the Party from the middle’….’our man of constant sorrow’… ‘but he was called back by the Party just as he was ready to drift into a comfortable – and well deserved – obscurity.’
